Here’s a question to go with the matter of what’s real: What about monsters?
In my household, the past several weeks have been taken up with a knee replacement (not mine) gone not-quite-as-desired. While I try to catch up with posts, here is an article that doesn’t mention NDEs but has a bearing on the way we think about things that go bump in the night and in our darker selves.

Interesting. I can’t make up my mind over whether Scott Poole is “reaching” for metaphors for a neat little theory, or if he’s on to something. The comparison to distressing NDE’s makes sense, though. People are always co-opting NDE’s to validate or create their own religious myths. We all have to make sense of the world somehow.

Unassailable intimidation has been used as a tool by those who want to control throughout the history of mankind. Threatening Images that we have no power or control over that will annihilate us unless we comply with those seeking control have been pushed at us throughout human history.
These are also the techniques used to assassinate someone’s character. Niggers are sexual bestial apes lurking to defile our women etc. The list goes on. Fear once established, really hangs in there. To make it worse, those who inflict it are convinced that they’re doing the right thing.
I have a personal saying,
God help us from those who are certain they’re right. Right is an unassailable position from which someone can do no wrong regardless of how horrible the consequences may be. Hitler was certain he was “Right”.
I think this guy is looking for something to write about. What he’s suggesting here will be kicked around the field like a soccer ball by the fearful, and bring him a lot of attention . There’s an old saying in show business. I don’t care what you say about me, just mention my name.
